Greg Cooper: To Tweet Or Not To Tweet: The Guide

  • Joshua Hays · 1 month ago
Great write-up Greg! I agree, sometimes I've been quite guilty of posting meaningless tweets but most of the time I try my best to put thought into those 140 characters. What people commonly forget makes Twitter such a powerful tool is its search feature. The more you add valuable content into your tweets, the more you are sharing with the community. Look forward to seeing more blogs such as this...

I have always wanted to use my blog for "articles" like this but never have the patience to write them. Hopefully I can write up some more over the next few months.

People can post what they want on their Twitter pages. Do you really feel the need to dictate to everyone what you find interesting?
  • Awfy · 1 month ago
Yes as that's one of the purposes of my personal blog, to express my opinions and views on subjects one of which is Twitter.
  • Impulsive Tweeter · 1 month ago
Ok then, I now proclaim you king of Twitter.

Anything I can do, my liege?
  • Awfy · 1 month ago
I know why you're lashing out with the sarcasm, it's because your latest couple of tweets all fall under the points I listed in the post.
  • Impulsive Tweeter · 1 month ago
My last few tweets probably do, but that is because it is a micro blogging service, you let people know what is going on in ones life.

If you had done this article in a hilariously sarcastic way, then I would probably have lolled and moved on, but you've made it more like rules and this has enraged me.
  • Awfy · 1 month ago
Exactly my point, let people know what you're doing when it's interesting. Don't let people know what you're doing when it's uninteresting such as going to bed.

    penis.

I'm sorry, I didn't realise there were rules. You follow about 6 people, so I don't see how this really affects you...
  • Awfy · 1 month ago
It does affect me because I pick who I follow based on the above points, if someone posts any of the above too much I won't follow them anymore. I only want to know about the unusual and interesting parts of their lives.

I will tweet whatever I want. Not what some person with delusions of grandeur says I am allowed to tweet. Do I have you permission to post a tweet moaning about this article, your Highness?
  • Awfy · 1 month ago
I don't have delusions of grandeur, if I did I wouldn't class myself as common in the post...

Also please do tweet about it, as that's interesting as it's an opinion on something.

insert useless and boring comment here
  • Philip · 1 month ago
You can hardly tell us what's interesting, when you post a video of your window blind...
  • Awfy · 1 month ago
I thought it was interesting enough to post as it's an unusual feature to have on a house, especially externally that can be controlled with a switch. It's a design feature that makes the house interesting.

although I think the intention was good, it's generally not a good idea to tell people what they should and shouldn't say... I appreciate the irony in this comment.
